What "THE FINALS" game is about

THE FINALS is a team-based online shooter from Embark Studios, founded by former DICE head Patrick Söderlund. The developers previously worked on Battlefield.

Players will join their teams to battle against their opponents in arenas which, by the way, can be altered, destroyed, and utilized in different ways. The arenas themselves were inspired by real-world locations.

You can simply aim and shoot because this approach always works. But you can enrich the gameplay and use the environment for greater efficiency and spectacle. You can be like a ninja and sneak up on enemy squads with a katana in hand. Or you can blow up entire buildings.

One of the main features of The Finals is the almost complete destructibility of objects, including entire buildings. Even during closed testing, in which journalists participated, players actively utilized this, coming up with unconventional strategies.

The goal of every match in The Finals is to earn more money than the opposing team. Money can be earned not only for killing enemies but also for completing various tasks on the map. The maps in The Finals are quite expansive, and players can climb any elevations, such as rooftops of houses.

The game stands out with its light atmosphere, colorful designs, and impressive destruction system that allows players to make holes in walls, and sometimes even destroy entire buildings.

When is the Open Beta Test for THE FINALS game

Starting from October 26th, 2023, players can participate in the open beta testing for THE FINALS, a free shooter which has impressed many with its environmental destruction since its announcement. A trailer has been released for the occasion.

The testing will take place from October 26 to November 5 for users across all target platforms — PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Crossplay is supported, and in battles, players can use 20 types of weapons, 26 gadgets, and 9 special abilities. Access to the testing is available on Steam, PlayStation Store, and Xbox Store.
