Survival games often start with building a house near the initial location and checkpoint. But as we advance and level up, we look for a better place to settle, somewhere with abundant resources and room for a base. In Enshrouded, some of the best locations for this are Springlands, Revelwood, and Kindlewastes. Let’s see why they are the most suitable choices.

Nomad Highlands: South of Umbral Hollow

The south of Umbral Hollow is a great spot to build a base in the Nomad Highlands. It is a vast area of Shroud that spans most of the biome. You can travel easily across the whole Highlands from the south of Umbral Hollow, using the fast travel points on the north and south. You can also explore many Flame Shrines and Flame Shrines, and find Scavenger camps on the southeast. Moreover, the south of Umbral Hollow has many rocks that provide a scenic view, and places where you can mine copper.

To reach the Ancient Spire on the northeast of the Highlands, you will need to overcome many challenges and climb up the Pillars of Creation. This is not the simplest route, but it is worth it if you want to discover this unique relic of ancient civilization.

Revelwood: Pikemead's Reach

Pikemead’s Reach is the ideal place for a base in Revelwood. It is situated on the north of Embervale and offers a splendid view of the Peak and the Imperial Guards. This is also where your journey through Revelwood ends, where you will have to fight with Fell Wispwyvern. This is a formidable foe, so you will need good preparation and supplies. After defeating him, you will be able to upgrade your Flame Altar and proceed to the Nomad Highlands.

To get to Pikemead’s Reach, you have to go through a large area of Shroud and climb up to the east to Pike. There you will find a mountainous area where you can build a base. This base will be conveniently located between the two Ancient Spires in Revelwood and the Highlands, which will give you access to the central zone between them.

Near Pikemead’s Reach, you will also find several Flame Shrines and Flame Shrines, as well as Flame Roots. Being so close to the Shroud, you will be able to easily collect useful resources, such as Shroud Wood, as well as unique items that the enemies leave behind inside the Shroud.

Kindlewastes

Kindlewastes is the biggest region in Enshrouded, and it has a lot of places to see. But to enjoy everything this biome has to offer, you need to have the 6th level of flame. Otherwise, you won’t be able to get through some parts of Shroud. That’s why we suggest you split your exploration of Kindlewastes into two phases: north and south.

In the north, you’ll find the Ancient Spire, which connects to the Nomad Highlands. This amazing structure is on the east of Kindlewastes, and you can get there from the west. Before you go in, we recommend building a base on a high spot, near the Temple of the Ghostly Sun. This will give you an edge in the fight with Fell Sicklestite, as well as easy access to the upper layers of Kindlewastes, where you can find the Brittle Bush and other resources.

In the south, you’ll get to admire the beauty of lapis lazuli, which shines in the dark. You’ll also get to visit the Ridgeback mine, where you can mine iron. To get to the south, you need to have the 6th level of flame, to beat the Shroud. We advise you to build a base on the southernmost tip of the map, to be closer to these places. You’ll also be able to quickly go back to the Ancient Spire, if you want.

Blue Goblet Tavern

If you want to have a base that’s already done, without the need to build it from scratch, then the Blue Goblet Tavern is what you need. This huge building is on the west of the Ancient Spire of Revelwood, and you can easily spot it.

The Blue Goblet Tavern already has a 25 level of comfort, which gives you a lot of perks. You can use the tavern as your home, or as a temporary shelter, when you need to rest and heal. We recommend you not to wreck the tavern, but to keep it in its original shape, to not lose its handy effect.

Springlands hill

On the north of Springlands, there is a green hill, where you have a lot of space to build a base. From this hill, you can enjoy a scenic view of the surroundings, as well as a handy fast travel point, which lets you easily reach faraway regions.

This place is also well guarded from attacks, thanks to the high position and the surrounding vegetation.

Some of the benefits of building a base on Springlands hill are: You’ll be close to the Springlands Ancient Spire, which is one of the first spires you’ll come across in Enshrouded. The spire has several puzzles and chests that you can solve and loot, as well as a portal to the Nomad Highlands.

You’ll have access to various resources that are plentiful in the Springlands, such as Savannah Roots, fur, resin, and wax. You can utilize these resources to craft items, upgrade your Flame Altar, and trade with other Craftspeople.

You’ll be able to explore the Springlands region, which is rich with wildlife, flora, and landmarks. You can meet different animals, such as deer, wolves, and Wuki, and collect trophies from them. You can also find places of interest, such as the Temple of the Ghostly Sun, Fort Kelvin, and the Glittering Stone Mine.

You’ll have a comfy and cozy base, with a 25-level comfort buff, which will boost your health regeneration, stamina recovery, and flame level. You can also decorate your base with furniture, plants, and paintings to make it more personal and homey.

Springlands: Fort Kelvin

Fort Kelvin is a former Wuki city, which you can claim and make your own. To do this, you will have to fight with many hostile Vukah, but it will be rewarding. In the fort, there are already a few buildings, which you can use to place the Flame Altar and other structures. In the fort and around it, you will also find many handy resources, which will be regularly replenished. You will be able to collect wax, resin and fur from animals (which you will also get as trophies for killing Vukah).

Besides, near the fort, there are some chests with different weapons, as well as a pack of wolves, from which you can get bones and fur. Fort Kelvin has a handy location between Springlands and Revelwood, near the Pillars of Creation, which lead to the Nomad Highlands. From the fort, you can easily get to 2 Flame Shrines and 2 Flame Shrines, as well as the Glittering Stone Mine on the east.

Fort Kelvin is also close to the Scavenger camps, such as the Deer Song Border and the Scavenger Hill, where you can get scrap metal for your needs. If you combine this with the two Ancient Spires in both Revelwood and Springlands, you will have access to many interesting places, such as Scavenger camps, tombs, Savannah Roots and others.
