In this guide, we will explore the five crucial NPCs in the game. Each of these NPCs can be found throughout the world and are accessible through a simple quest line. They play a vital role in your success within the game.

Blacksmith

The Blacksmith is your first essential NPC. Located at the Ancient Spire in Springlands, as shown on the map, you can summon him to your base using the summoning staff. The Blacksmith allows you to use the Charcoal Kiln and Forge, unlocking the ability to create your initial set of tools and armor. As you progress and upgrade your altar, the Blacksmith will offer additional items.

Initially, these two crafting benches are crucial for making your first set of scrappy tools, such as the pickaxe, regular axe, one-handed weapons like the spiked club and scrappy sword, your first tier of wands, and armor like the Rising Fighter set.

As you continue to upgrade your altar and progress through the game, the Blacksmith becomes even more important. In addition to the Charcoal Kiln and Forge, you'll be able to utilize these crafting benches to create your first set of scrappy tools. Hunter

The Hunter is another vital NPC that you will unlock via an Ancient Vault located directly east of the Blacksmith. Once you have recruited the Hunter, you can use the summoning staff to bring them to your base. You have the option to provide individual huts for each NPC or house them all in one building, depending on your preference.

The Hunter offers a unique production item: the Drying Rack. With the Drying Rack, you can craft essential items such as dried fur and dried purple berries. These materials are crucial for crafting armor sets that the Hunter provides, including the Ranger and Scout sets. If you're aiming for a Ranger or agility-based class, these armor sets are ideal for enhancing your stamina and agility as you progress through the game.

Farmer

The Farmer can be found in an Ancient Farm located west of Springlands. After unlocking the Farmer with the summoning staff, ensure they have suitable shelter at your base. The Farmer plays a key role in agriculture, allowing you to use the Farming Plot to grow plants and raise livestock, which are essential for sustaining your in-game survival and progression.

The Farmer also offers a production item called the Seed Bed, which allows you to turn plants and other items into seeds for crafting. Additionally, the Farmer enables you to craft various food items that provide benefits such as stamina recharge and endurance boosts. For example, you can make Popcorn for additional energy and Vegetable Puree for endurance. As you progress in the game and unlock more items, the Farmer will be able to craft more food items for you.

These extra food items, like Popcorn and Vegetable Puree, are essential for maintaining your stamina and endurance in the game. As you unlock additional items, you will also unlock more crafting options with the Farmer.

Alchemist

To find the Alchemist, refer to the map and locate them in an Ancient Vault northwest of the Blacksmith. You may need to navigate around a large mountain to reach them, as the shroud between the two locations might not be passable. Once you find the Alchemist, use the summoning staff to bring them back to your base.

The Alchemist is crucial for crafting health potions, which are vital for your survival. Unlike bandages, which restore health over time, health potions provide an instant heal. The base health potions, even at the uncommon level, can restore up to +200 health.

The Alchemist is a valuable NPC to unlock. He provides a production item called the Grinding Stone, which is used to turn bones into Bone Meal. This is particularly important in conjunction with the Farmer, as you'll need Bone Meal to craft Farm Soil for planting additional crops. Moreover, the Alchemist offers a gear set for magic-based users: the Alchemist Apprentice Set. This set enhances magical critical strike chances and provides additional mana generation, making it an excellent choice for those using magic in Enshrouded.

Carpenter

The Carpenter can be unlocked via an Ancient Vault located southeast of the Blacksmith. To find the Carpenter, head south from the Blacksmith and then all the way east. Once unlocked, you can summon the Carpenter to your location. The Carpenter is not only aesthetically pleasing but also provides a variety of useful items.

One of the Carpenter's offerings is the Kiln, another crafting station that allows you to craft additional items for various recipes. Besides the Kiln, the Carpenter provides valuable tools like the Improved Grappling Hook, which requires less stamina to use and can be activated at longer ranges.

Additionally, the Carpenter offers a Small Magic Chest, which has more slots than the standard small chest and features dedicated storage. This means you can access and craft items directly from the chest as long as you're within your base range, without having to move the items to your inventory.

The Carpenter is indeed a game changer, providing a variety of different furniture pieces. In Enshrouded, furniture is not merely aesthetic; it provides additional benefits. For instance, certain furniture can increase your comfort level, which in turn allows you to obtain a well-rested buff. This buff can be advantageous during your adventures.
