Navigating your way into competitive play

To access classified games, players need to play 50 matches in the normal mode. But if players have already achieved this in the first part of the game, they can go straight to battle without any additional requirements. Returning to the modes, it's clarified that there are two:
Role Queue: here, you select the desired role before searching for a match. This allows a gamer to play on preferred characters, but it may slow down the search.
Open Queue: there's no specific role requirement, which speeds up the search for a match, but doesn't guarantee that you can play as a DPS hero, even if you're counting on it.
Ranks and their divisions

In Overwatch 2 ranks are divided into eight medals reflecting mastery levels in the system. Each consists of five tiers, which advance until the player receives the next medal. Thus, if you reach Bronze 1 and progress further, you will start at Silver 5.
The list:
- Bronze 5-1;
- Silver 5-1;
- Gold 5-1;
- Platinum 5-1;
- Diamond 5-1;
- Master 5-1 (the top 500 usually starts here);
- Grandmaster 5-1;
- Champion 5-1.
The higher it is, the greater the reward awaits you at the end of the season.
Changes in the ranking system
The most significant innovation in Overwatch 2 is that developers are now given the opportunity to see their progress as a percentage after each game won or lost. This allows you to more accurately determine how much is left until you rank up or down. The red and green arrows do not always indicate a rating decrease or increase. The colors of the arrows signify the percentage points that will be deducted or added for specific scenarios. For example, if a victory was won in which you already had an advantage, the rating increase will be minimal.
Starting with the ninth season, your standing in Overwatch will undergo a gentle reset, as outlined by Blizzard Entertainment. The higher your MMR was, the lower the position from which the start of the new season will begin. In addition, during calibration, it will be possible to approximate it that you will receive. The reset will now occur once a year. Moreover, a fresh rank has been introduced — Champion, which is positioned after Elite and before the top 500.

Jade weapons have been added, purchasable with competitive tokens. All competitive currency has been renamed to CP Legacy, and a new currency, CP, has been introduced. You can only earn this currency and use it to purchase jade weapons.
