Minecraft is a whole universe with monsters, a garden, and dungeons. But in the vast expanses of the cubic world, it can sometimes be lonely, and you want adventures with friends. There are several ways to play together that are suitable for gamers with different technical capabilities, so let's break it down.

How to play Minecraft multiplayer

To embark on a multiplayer journey in Java Edition, first open the official game launcher. Navigate to the "Play" tab, and choose the realm one wishes to share with companions. Click on "Edit" to modify the world settings.

In the newly opened window, locate the "Participants" section. If a comrade hasn't been added to the companions list yet, utilize the "Find Friends" feature by inputting their tag. Once the companion has been found, simply click on the "Invite" button next to their name. After sending the invitation, the comrade will be able to join the world.

Minecraft lan game

When playing over a LAN, you control who can join the world. This is the perfect option for joint forays into cubic mines and forests with close friends. Since the game runs over a local network, won't have the delays or link problems that can occur on public servers. You control all aspects: mods, settings, and rules, for example, allowing or disallowing cheats.

The downside is limited access. Companions must be on the same LAN to join the game. That is, you must be in the same room or use third-party services to run a local network. The latter option may require some technical knowledge: we have described in detail how to become a host in another article with screenshots.

To play Minecraft with friends using a local network connection, the IP address will need to be known and the world configured for multiplayer access. If comrades are connected to the same internet network or if playing together over Wi-Fi, no additional third-party services are necessary.

In this setup, essentially create a Minecraft lan server by opening your single-player world to a group of people who can join via the local area network (LAN).

If a local network is available, one can play offline, but then third-party programs like Hamachi will need to be used. The principle of operation is simple: a new host is opened through the program, a password is set for it and an invitation is sent to other people. Close friends can then connect and see the realm in multiplayer, or one can join comrades' worlds.

Multiplayer server

One way to enjoy Minecraft with companions is by finding a host that suits one's preferences. Accounts can be created on the platform and comrades invited to join. However, it's important to keep in mind that on popular and well-established servers, there will likely be other players besides friends. This can add an extra layer of social interaction and excitement to the gameplay experience.

Connecting to a server may differ depending on the version of the game. Below we have described the general principle of connecting.

To join a cubic world multiplayer hub, the host's IP will first need to be obtained. Once the IP is acquired, the Minecraft launcher should be opened and the "Multiplayer" section navigated to. There, an option to "Add Server" will be found. Clicking on it will bring up a new window prompting for the realm's name and IP. After filling in the required information, clicking the "Connect" button will allow joining the virtual gathering place and starting to play with others.

You can find a free host to liking on the website, or choose the most interesting and unusual ones in our selection with screenshots and IP keys. Most often, servers are launched for Java Edition, but some authors write that there is support for the Berock version.

When you have chosen an interesting adventure, go to the card by clicking on the banner. A new web page will open and the IP for connection will be written on the left. Be careful, the authors who support both versions of the game indicate which address is for Java and which is for Bedrock.

Public Minecraft multiplayer servers are focused on interaction with a large number of players from all over the realm. Usually they have many different modes and mini-games. But there is also a risk of encountering inadequate players or hackers, as well as delays and connection problems, especially if the host is located in another region. On public worlds, you have less control over the gameplay, and you must follow the established platform rules.
