Twitch streamer Kai Cenat garnered significant attention from the gaming industry in May when he conducted a marathon of Elden Ring without prior experience with the soulslike genre. In June, he jumped on the stream train with the release of Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.

Kai Cenat managed to complete the expansion on June 26, five days after its release. His streams of Shadow of the Erdtree totaled 99 hours, with his character dying 1,070 times.

Over 60 of those hours were spent on the final boss and leveling up for victory; he reached the boss at the 31-hour mark. The battle was so exhausting that the streamer invited a therapist to his stream. He defeated the boss roughly seven hours after her visit.

After finishing the DLC, the blogger's friends presented him with an improvised trophy, and he expressed gratitude to his viewers and close ones for their support.

Shadow of the Erdtree is the first and only expansion for the Elden Ring. A couple of days before its release it beat The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine as the highest-rated DLC on Metacritic.
