With only a couple of days left before its release, Shadow of the Erdtree expansion for Elden Ring has become the highest-rated DLC in Metacritic's history. The new expansion from FromSoftware received an amazing score of 95/100, surpassing the previous leader, The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine, which scored 92.

This year, we have also seen a release of Destiny 2's Final Shape, which received a score of 90. However, Metacritic only accounted for 19 reviews for this expansion, contrary to 56 reviews of the soulslike. What's even more interesting is that the first and only Elden Ring DLC turned out to be the 2024 release with the highest rating on Metacritic, surpassing Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

Reviewers have praised Hidetaka Miyazaki's team for creating a vast and rich adventure that will not leave fans indifferent. In the expansion, players will acquire a plethora of unique equipment and face some of the best bosses among all FromSoftware games.

So, the hype before the release is through the roof. There is little time left before common players will be able to play it, and we expect lots of different content on the Internet.
