Shadow of the Erdtree, the first and only expansion for Elden Ring, has officially become available to players. Shortly before the release, Bandai Namco presented the launch trailer. The video features some bosses, so if you want to avoid spoilers, it’s best not to watch it.

Shadow of the Erdtree has become number one in the ranking of all DLCs on the Metacritic website. Additionally, this expansion holds the highest score on the site among all releases this year.

Initially, the developers wanted to include the DLC's storyline in the main game but decided against it. The creators of the action-RPG realized that such an arc did not fit into the main narrative, so they moved it to an add-on, giving a more detailed account of Miquella's story.

It is worth noting that the weapons introduced in the DLC, according to the head of FromSoftware, will not make the main game or PvP easier. However, this equipment might open up new strategies for dealing with particularly dangerous adversaries from the original action-RPG.

Many streamers plan to host marathons of the game at launch, so there won't be lack of content.
