The Polish studio Fool's Theory has built an impressive portfolio. It collaborated closely with CD Projekt RED, worked on the remake of the first game in The Witcher series, and assisted Larian Studios with the development of Baldur's Gate 3 and Divinity 2.

🚩 When is The Thaumaturge release: the isometric RPG in a dark fantasy setting will launch on March 4, 2024. The storyline is based on an alternate history of the Russian Empire. Warsaw is mired in poverty and crime, its people unhappy and wicked. The city is plagued by class inequality, with a clear divide between the poor and rich classes, as well as a separation between humans, mages, and evil forces.

The main character, named Viktor, is a mage who is forced to hide his origins. Returning to Warsaw, he is struck by the deplorable state of the city, realizing that creatures from the darkness pose a significant threat to its inhabitants.

The developers promise a nonlinear story, with multiple dialogue response options and several story endings. Player choices affect the main and side stories. For example, the fate of the Bloody Baron in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

The Thaumaturge is published by 11 bit studios, also a Polish studio. Their portfolio includes major projects like This War of Mine and Frostpunk. The new game's engine is Unreal Engine 5. Steam's recommended system requirements are NVIDIA GTX 3060 Ti VRAM and 32 GB RAM.

Previously, Fool's Theory had delayed the release of their game. The first delay was from December 5, 2023, to February 20, 2024, to fix bugs. The second delay to March 4 was because the creators did not want their project to "get lost" among other loud February releases, likely referring to Helldivers 2 and Last Epoch.
