Fans eagerly awaiting the Deluxe Edition of Baldur's Gate 3 for the PlayStation 5 in North America will need to exercise patience. Developer Larian Studios has announced a delay in the release of the physical versions in this region due to issues around producing PS5 discs.

According to a statement from the studio on social media, the approval workflow from third-party manufacturers for the North American market PS5 discs took much longer than expected. Larian estimates the copies should be prepared in around 14 days from May 24th, with shipping likely requiring an additional 10 day period.

The developers are considering bringing on temporary workers to accelerate the assembly line. Unfortunately, digital downloads cannot replace the physical Deluxe editions, so purchasers in North America will have to wait until July to receive their boxed sets.

Meanwhile, copies for Xbox and PlayStation 5 in other regions have already been dispatched and should be arriving shortly. This marks the second physical offering of Baldur's Gate 3 from Larian following last year's Collector's Edition which rapidly sold through with no restock planned.
