The Archthrones Team has unveiled a demo version of the free mod Dark Souls: Archthrones. It reimagines the Dark Souls universe and serves as an extensive update for Dark Souls 3. It introduces an alternative story unfolding in five unique worlds accessible through the Nexus of Embers.

Features of the mod:

  • new locations redesigned in the game's style have been added;
  • there are common NPCs and bosses;
  • the mod uses an enhanced Dark Souls 3 engine, with graphics and physics becoming more modern;
  • It includes fan-made voice acting.

On the developers' website, it is stated that their modification will not trigger an account ban, as it uses a private server and its own save files. The creators also warned that transferring save files between the mod and the original version might cause issues. The use of a private server enables cooperative play, although connection to the vanilla game is not feasible.
