Despite a great start, the number of players in The Finals has sharply dropped since the game's release. The project is losing its appeal among Steam players. It is worth reminding that a few days after the shooter was presented at The Game Awards 2023 ceremony, The Finals surpassed Call of Duty on Steam.

According to SteamDB, after reaching a peak of 242,619 Steam players on December 10, 2023, the number of players in The Finals dropped to 51,314. This is a decline of almost 80% in approximately a month and a half.

This decline may be related to the hype around the new game Palworld. The project has dominated in the number of players since its launch on January 19th. Palworld overshadowed other games on Steam, as it reached a record number of players — 2,018,904 on January 24th.

Nevertheless, the developers continue to support the game with updates and plan to add even more content in the future. However, fans of The Finals are concerned that the upcoming year seems to be filled with new games that may continue to attract attention, which could result in a continued decrease in the number of gamers in the shooter.
