The popular tactical shooter Valorant is embroiled in a scandal due to an increasing number of cases where solo players intentionally disrupt matches. According to complaints from a Reddit discussion, some users deliberately hinder their teammates by sharing crucial information with enemies, blocking allies with their abilities, and refusing to play seriously.

ValorantImage: Vante, X.comOne notable example was a recent match where a Phoenix player started intentionally griefing their team from the start: revealing teammates' locations in the chat, throwing blinding and smoke grenades at them. On the 5th round, when the rest wanted to surrender, he refused, prolonging the agony for his party.

Players believe Valorant's current punishment system is not adequately dealing with such offenders. Even if they eventually get banned, they still manage to ruin the match. Fans are urging Riot Games to implement harsher measures for solo saboteurs, including instant removal from the match upon confirmation of intentional disruption. They also call for a stricter sanction system overall, as even seemingly minor offenses like refusing to buy weapons can severely harm team gameplay.
