The premiere of Fallout will take place on April 12, 2024, on Prime Video. The creators have not yet disclosed how many episodes and seasons the show will have, but it is known that Jonathan Nolan has already filmed the first three episodes. Judging by the published photos, the series' creators are trying to preserve the retro-futuristic atmosphere and aesthetics of the original source.

One of the main roles in the series went to Ella Purnell. She and Kyle MacLachlan will play survivors from Vault 33 in Los Angeles. According to the plot, Lucy has lived in the underground vault her entire life, but circumstances force her to go above ground on a rescue mission.

Walton Goggins will play the role of a Ghoul. In the Fallout games, most ghouls are mutants who have lost both their ability to think and their appearance due to massive doses of radiation. Goggins, however, will play a smart ghoul, different from his kind in intelligence and cunning. Nolan compares this character to Virgil from Dante's "Divine Comedy".

The ghoul's appearance template from the games was altered for Goggins' character.

Aaron Moten will play the squire of one of the members of the Brotherhood of Steel, which the director sees as "a mutated mix of patriotism, religion, loyalty, and brotherhood".

Todd Howard stated:

We consider what happens in the series as canon. It's great when someone else looks at your work and then presents their view of it.

Howard could not do without his favorite phrase:

Sometimes I watched what was happening and asked myself, why didn't we think of this before?
