Since the pandemic, the BlizzCon has been an awaited event with an unpredictable fate. On the one hand, it is still a great platform for new announcements and communication with fans. On the other hand, with all the changes inside Activision Blizzard, it is unsurprising to see this event missing for some years. This introduction is to say that the BlizzCon event will not take place in 2024.

That, of course, doesn't mean that Blizzard will fully go into the radio silence. They are still planning several presentations around their future projects. We will get the new WoW expansion called The War Within and Vessel of Hatred, the expansion for Diablo IV. Nothing exact here, but since developers focus on delivering that this year, we'll hear about it sooner rather than later.

Maybe the company will move to a model where they will host events when there is enough new content to show in one place. Maybe it is still connected to the internal restructuring process. Considering the drastic changes in the top management, it would be unsurprising.

The good news is that Blizzard is interested in BlizzCon's comeback in the future, so Blizzard is not completely abandoning the event.
