One of the most anticipated games of 2023 and Bethesda Softworks' main project in recent years, Starfield, couldn't avoid a problematic release. The level of bugs in Starfield — ranging from disappearing spaceships, crashes, and texture issues — escalated to the vanishing of entire cities.

A player by the username Cerparis shared this unpleasant discovery. An inexplicable error surfaced in his game, which resulted in the deletion of an entire city. Meanwhile, characters, light sources, and some objects remained in place, making the error even more visually unsettling.

While exploring New Atlantis in Starfield, all of the city's architecture — from skyscrapers and shops to subways — mysteriously disappeared. Characters and objects were left on the barren surface of the planet, yet their behavior models remained unaffected. NPCs continue their activities as if they are still living within the city.

In addition to New Atlantis, the player visited Neon in Starfield and found that this city had also vanished. Many users commented on the original post, saying they had encountered similar issues.

Players are skeptical that Bethesda's developers will address the problem. Instead, they are forwarding the information to mod creators, hoping they can rectify the bug.
