In an interview with blogger MrMattyPlays, Todd Howard answered several questions about the Fallout series.

Firstly, the game designer emphasized that Bethesda will not rush the development of the next numbered installment in the series, even in light of the success of the Amazon series. Howard mentioned that developers would prefer to take additional time on the project to do everything right. The same approach applies to the Elder Scrolls and Starfield games. As for Fallout 76, they do not plan to discontinue its support. Howard believes that the game has the potential for very long-term development.

Bethesda also has no plans for console ports or any improvements to the first two parts of Fallout. According to Howard, the developers' main concern is ensuring the games can run on modern PCs, but there is no intention for additional work, as the studio has other priorities. Howard generally does not favor the idea of releasing enhanced and simplified versions of classic Fallout games for new fans. He prefers that users experience the games as the developers originally intended.

Howard also mentioned that Bethesda games are currently more popular than ever. According to him, the company's titles had more than 25 million players as of May.
