A tabletop game based on Valheim has been announced, with a crowdfunding campaign set to launch this fall.

Since Valheim is a game with numerous components, from personal resource gathering, building, and survival in various biomes, the tabletop game will attempt to convey these different aspects of the experience. According to the announcement, the tabletop game will accommodate one to four players, and, like in the video game, you will play as Viking heroes. To enhance immersion, the team of artists will create original figurines, a Viking house, and much more.

The adaptation of Valheim into a tabletop game will be handled by MOOD Publishing in partnership with Iron Gate Studio and Coffee Stain Publishing. The mechanics will be developed by Ole Steiness, a Valheim fan and designer who previously adapted Deep Rock Galactic into a tabletop game.

The game will feature four initial biomes: Black Forest, Meadows, Mountains, and Swamps, with the possibility of additional biomes in the future. You start with a very basic house, lacking resources, and need to explore the land, learn to craft weapons, and build your base.

The crowdfunding campaign is expected to begin at the end of this year, with new details, including bosses, art, rules, and more, to be revealed soon.
