Users of the Xbox mobile app began receiving notifications on May 28, the same day the cinematic trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was scheduled to be released.

Activision have not confirmed the launch of Black Ops 6 in Game Pass yet, so the notification may have been sent prematurely. While we know that sometimes these notifications are mistakes that didn't come into reality, here we have a higher chance of it being a mistake not a misinformation, simply because this was a subject of rumors for quite some time..

Many, including analysts, consider the release of Call of Duty in Game Pass a crucial moment for the subscription service, whose growth has significantly slowed in recent years. Microsoft clearly hopes that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will put Game Pass back on a path of steady growth. Analysts believe that if this does not happen, the company will have few options left to attract new subscribers.

According to insiders, the Call of Duty launch in the Game Pass will lead to changes in the service. The subscription is likely to become more expensive to at least partially offset the loss in direct sales of the shooter on Xbox consoles and PC.
