It seems like going multi-platform is becoming a new trend. We know that some Xbox exclusives are available for PlayStation players, and PC players lately received a whole bunch of great games previously available only on consoles. Now, we have one more big publisher joining this ride.

In its new mid-term business plan, Square Enix aims to return the company to a path of stable growth. To achieve this, the publisher has reviewed its development processes and decided to focus on quality over quantity. Square Enix will adopt a multi-platform strategy, which includes PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo platforms, and PC, to make its games accessible to as many players as possible.

The company specifically highlights PC as a platform with significant growth potential. Therefore, Square Enix plans to launch initiatives that it believes will attract an audience on PC.

Square Enix's business strategy review comes in response to a series of releases with mixed success. The company has yet to report sales figures for the recent Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which analysts suggest were notably lower compared to Final Fantasy XVI and the first part of the Final Fantasy VII remake.

Earlier, Square Enix warned investors of losses amounting to $141 million due to the cancellation of several projects as part of its business review.
