Valve finally released the long-awaited Dota 2 event called Crownfall. It is a big four-month adventure with lots of rewards for players. The two center characters are Shendelzare, the Vengeful Spirit, and Dragonus, the Skywrath Mage. They are set on their path of revenge against Imperia, Shendelzare's sister, and their goal is also to claim the throne of Skywrath.

Although developers state that Crownfall is a completely new event, there are some well-known elements to it. The candy shop is back, and the range of rewards is roughly the same. However, the main mechanic is indeed different.

Crownfall looks more like the Invasions mode in Mortal Kombat 1. At least, there is a resemblance in these paths. To clear them, you must collect tokens, which you can obtain by playing Dota 2 matches. Also, there are different rewards, including coins that can be exchanged for a discount at the event store.

In the event store, there are several valuable items: First of all, there are two new Arcanas for Vengeful Spirit and Skywrath Mage. Like other items of such rarity, they visually upgrade all aspects of heroes, including skill effects. There is also a Pathfinder Pack that allows you to go on extra encounters for bigger rewards. The most logical order (if you play many Dota 2 matches) is to collect free coins first, then apply the discount to the Pathfinder Pack, and then use coins from extra quests to make Arcanas cheaper.

Also, this event has a huge comic that immerses players in the Dota 2 Lore. This is a must-read!
