During EVO Japan, Capcom not only announced the exact date of Akuma's arrival but also revealed the place that will host the next Street Fighter 6 world championship. Capcom Cup 11 will take place in Tokyo, Japan. The best players in the world will compete for the grand prize of one million dollars in the legendary Ryōgoku Kokugikan venue with a capacity of over 11,000 people.

We also know offline tournaments that will be part of the newest Capcom Pro Tour. This is a huge improvement from the last season, when we had only three offline premier events. Now we have:

  • Evo 2024
  • Cream City Convergence
  • Ultimate Fighting Arena
  • East Coast Throwdown
  • Super Premier Singapore
  • Super Premier Japan
  • Blink Respawn
  • Kings of the World

We're yet to hear details about the Capcom Pro Tour structure, but it looks like the core concept will remain. The winners of online premier events qualify for the Capcom Cup 11, while the other path is to win the regional league.

Nonetheless, it is great to see such a commitment from Capcom as they continue to invest money in the fighting games community.
