Twenty of the strongest Mortal Kombat 1 players in the world gathered for the Final Kombat, the first world championship after the soft reboot of the iconic fighting game series.

The biggest favourite of the tournament was SonicFox, arguably the greatest fighting games player of all time and without a doubt number one in Mortal Kombat history. In Toronto, theu delivered once again.

The six-time EVO champion went on an almost perfect record: before the grand finals they lost only one-game! Like the Undertaker, they had a score of 21-1 before the main event. However, Nicolas managed to surprise SonicFox and got a grand final reset after a full Bo5 series. That was his final success, though, as after the reset the American legend swept out their opponent and claimed another trophy to their huge achievement list.

While the Mortal Kombat competitive circuit is not doing well, as players notice the lack of prize money involved, SonicFox made an interesting declaration: the champion will storm into the Tekken 8 scene. We wish them good luck on this huge challenge.
