The EVO Japan is too big an event to ignore even if your fighting game is not present there. When Street Fighter 6 reveals a trailer of an iconic character and Tekken 8 announces its new DLC fighter, such a powerhouse like Mortal Kombat 1 has to answer with something.

Netherrealm Software announces that Mavado, the fourth DLC kameo fighter, will join the game on May 7.

While this may seem not that big of a deal, it is still something. We could see Mavado in the Ermac trailer a couple of weeks ago. And while the ninja is already in the game, now the time has come for Mavado to join the battle field.

Mavado made its debut in the Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, and he was something like an underworld antipode to Kano. Since then, we could regularly see his cameos, but as a playable character he didn't gain enough popularity to earn more appearances.

Mavado will help you with set-ups, defense and combo extension. At least, that's how developers see this human.
