The esports club Apeks decided to lay off most of its divisions including Counter-Strike 2 squad. This announcement was published on the club's social media accounts.

According to the statement from Apeks management, the club is facing financial difficulties and must reallocate resources. Along with withdrawing from CS2, the organization plans to temporarily lay off most of its staff in June. Representatives of the team stated that Apeks will make every effort to return to the discipline as soon as possible. Considering CS2 is having one of the healthiest ecosystems in esports, the decision to quit is indeed surprising.

Also, the organization will completely shut down its Fortnite division and quit the competitive scene. The club is putting all its resources on the Valorant roster, which is attempting to qualify for the VALORANT Champions Tour.

Apeks entered the professional Counter-Strike scene in 2013. The organization's best result at majors was third place at the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023. According to Esports Earnings, the team has earned approximately $457,000 of prize money in Valve's shooter.
