Homelander from "The Boys" has been added to Mortal Kombat 1 with the release of a small update. The update is available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

For a week, only owners of the Premium Edition or the paid Kombat Pack will be able to play as the superhuman character. Starting June 11, anyone will be able to purchase the fighter.

Additionally, the patch updated Intel XeSS technology to version 1.3, added several skins for Kitana, Mileena, Reptile, Li Mei, and Quan Chi, improved enemy AI, made adjustments to some localizations, and fixed gameplay-related bugs.

While this patch brings more content to players, the timing of its release is not good when it comes to esports: on June 14 there will be a Last Chance Qualifier for the Final Kombat, the Mortal Kombat 1 World Championship. The main event of the MK1 Pro Kompetition is scheduled on the next day. For players it will be a hard task to adapt. In comparison, the Tekken team waited for the end of EVO Japan 2024 to release a big balance patch.
