On March 24, 2024, the peak concurrent player count for Dragon's Dogma 2 on Steam exceeded 228 585. At the time of writing, there are over 100 000 users playing the game.

The new release has broken the records of many other Capcom games, including several popular Resident Evil series titles, the slasher Devil May Cry 5 and Street Fighter 6. However, the sequel to Dragon's Dogma failed to surpass the Monster Hunter series, specifically "Rise" and "World". Currently, Dragon's Dogma 2 is one of the lowest-rated Capcom games on Steam, with 51% positive reviews. 

Capcom games SteamImage: steamdbAt launch, the game was criticized for microtransactions, a single save slot, performance issues, but praised for its graphics, soundtrack, engaging gameplay. The developers have already responded to player feedback and promised to fix the problems soon.

Dragon's Dogma 2 was released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on March 22. On the day of release, the developers apologized for the rocky launch. There are already web pages with interactive maps to track your progress, as well as key points of interest such as settlements, dungeons, merchants and other objects.
