Call of Duty introduced new content with the launch of Season 2, scheduled for February 7. Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer are receiving a host of additions such as:

  • A Warzone map
  • Three 6v6 multiplayer maps, and much more.

Ahead of the roadmap release, Zombies mode players were hoping to see similar content. Unfortunately, it turns out this is not the case.

Reddit user Wattsonmaster667 expressed their disappointment by posting under the title "Seriously? No Zombies content at launch?".

Many fans in the comments shared similar frustrations about Call of Duty due to the description of the future zombie content.

Zombies will not receive new content at the launch of Season 2, but they will get a new story mission, dark aether rift, schematics, and warlord in the mid-season update. Call of Duty has not specified when exactly this update will be released, but it is expected to happen about a month later.

Zombies fans are upset because Season 2 features a previously announced crossover with The Walking Dead. Some fans were hopeful that it would bring new and exciting features to the game's zombie mode.

New zombie content will appear later in Call of Duty Season 2, which will include:

  • A story mission;
  • A dark aether rift;
  • Schematics;
  • A warlord.
