After Valve decided to move on from the Dota Pro Circuit and leave the professional scene to third-party tournament organizers, we've seen a boost in tournament announcements. Interestingly, some known companies are entering the Dota 2 market.

BLAST, the Danish company that primarily hosts tournaments for CS:GO and CS2 (including the annual BLAST Premier League), decided to host five big events in the near future. Four of them are scheduled for 2025, while the other one will occur at the end of 2024 (current dates are November 26 - December 1).

What's interesting is that we know nothing about prize pools. BLAST is a conservative spender who doesn't throw money without reason. Usually, if a company wants to enter a scene with a bang, it announces big prize pools. However, that is not the case, as the Danish company likely bets on its reputation as a huge event host.

Now, the busy Dota 2 schedule for tier-1 teams will be even busier. It would be interesting to look at the approach that different teams will demonstrate when it comes to accepting tournament invites. Yet, considering the recent "esports winter", this is more likely to be a good sign than bad.
