What is common between esports and baseball? Well, both of them are popular in South Korea. San Diego Padres, a Major League Baseball team, is going to South Korea to play the first matches of the season against Los Angeles Dodgers. And Korean esports legends T1 gave a shoutout to the Padres!

Faker and his team recorded a video in which they wished the best of luck to a team with a couple of fellow countrymen on the roster. The Padres’ shortstop, Ha-Seong Kim, became the first Korean player to win a Gold Glove award for his 2023 season. Also, a pitcher, Woo-Suk Go, is making his MLB debut after spending four years in the strongest Korean baseball league, KBO. Funny enough, Woo-Suk Go loves playing League of Legends: he prefers the ADC role and got a special shoutout from Gumayusi, a T1 ADC.

Esports is really popular in South Korea. Superstars like Faker have big commercial partnerships, and ads with them are running throughout the country. So, although being a short video, this is an epic crossover between two big worlds.
