Today, we had the grand finale of a spring split in two different major League of Legends regions. Earlier today, Gen.G achieved a historical 4-peat in the LCK. Several hours later, the time has come for the European league to determine the strongest team.

On the one hand, we had G2 Esports, who ran through the upper bracket without any problems: in three series, this team lost only one map. On the other hand, we had Fnatic with a hell of a lower-bracket run. After defeat by G2 Esports, Fnatic won three series, and in all three series, the team lost the first map and had to make a comeback.

Interestingly, in the grand final, Fnatic did not follow the successful scenario. Instead, the first map that went in their favour was the only big success this Sunday. After that, G2 Esports won three maps in a row and claimed the title of LEC champion.

With that success, G2 Esports also clinched a slot in the Mid-Season Invitational. The European squad will go directly to the brackets stage, skipping the play-in. The MSI 2024 starts on May 1. It will take place in Chengdu, China.
