Imperial Esports faced a do-or-die situation today. The Brazilian squad took on GamerLegion in the 2-2 bracket of the PGL Major Copenhagen Opening Stage. The winner moved on to the next stage while the loser got eliminated.

The first map, Overpass, was a nail-biter. Twenty-four rounds were not enough to determine a winner, and in the overtime, GamerLegion was stronger — 16:12. However, Imperial managed to come back, and the next two maps went in total favor of the Brazilians — 13:6 on Mirage, 13:5 on Nuke.

João "felps" Vasconcellos once again stood up in this match. He made 60 kills, averaging 103.5 damage per round and having an outstanding 1.41 rating.

In the second stage of the PGL Major Copenhagen, Imperial will face Virtus.pro. Once again, it will be the Swiss system. Eight best teams who win three matches move to the Playoff Stage, while those who lose three times get eliminated. The first two rounds are played in a best-of-1 format, while promotion and elimination matches are best-of-3.

The total prize pool of the first Major tournament in the history of Counter-Strike 2 is $1,250,000.
