Horizon Forbidden West made its appearance on Steam, attracting 25,000 players, which is half the peak player count of Horizon Zero Dawn. Despite this, the game has received positive reviews.

The game was released on PC on March 21 and quickly reached 25,200 players on Steam, ranking it seventh among PlayStation Studios games. In comparison, Horizon Zero Dawn had gathered 56,500 players at its launch. Horizon Forbidden West has a chance to improve its results over the upcoming weekend, but a significant increase in online players is not expected.

The most successful PlayStation release on Steam to date is Helldivers 2, which was released in February and attracted 458,000 players.
