NetEase and Marvel Games have unveiled a team-based PvP shooter where comic book heroes take center stage. The third-person online action game is titled Marvel Rivals. In it, players will battle each other in a 6v6 format on various maps within the Marvel universe. In many aspects, this game reminds us of an old Overwatch.

In addition to regular hero abilities, Marvel Rivals allows players to utilize special cooperative abilities that vary depending on the characters. For example, Rocket Raccoon can climb onto Groot's back, activating a "team up" ability.

Alpha test for the Marvel Rivals will take place in May 2024. During this phase, players will have access to 12 heroes, including Spider-Man, Magneto, Black Panther, and Magik. Iron Man, Rocket Raccoon, Hulk, Groot, Doctor Strange, and Luna Snow are confirmed for the full version of the game.

When will it be released? We don't know. The same applies to the platforms. For now, we can say that Marvel Rivals will be available on PC, but no information about PlayStation and Xbox. Also, Marvel Rivals will be a free-to-play game. However, the developers are yet to disclose details about monetization.
