The market of free-to-play games is already quite saturated. It is really hard to bring the wow effect to players and even harder to make them leave their old habits. That's why it is important to look at any project that starts with a bang.

On July 2, Nexon launched their newest action game called The First Descendant. The developers describe it as a next-generation looter-shooter running on Unreal Engine 5. Tis game supports four-player co-op, where players must battle enormous monsters threatening humanity.

If we look at the first 24 hours, The First Descendant exceeded 229,000 concurrent players on Steam. This is a decent number that may start the snowball. However, the game currently has 53% positive reviews, with early players criticizing optimization issues and bugs related to purchasing in-game currency.

The game is currently in a pre-season phase, with the first official season set to begin in early August. At that time, new content will be added actively. The game is also available on both generations of PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
