Producer Naoki Yoshida shared the great results of Final Fantasy XIV in a brief article on the official series website.

The newest DLC, Dawntrail, was launched this Tuesday and within less than 100 hours the MMORPG managed to break its peak concurrent player record on all platforms. This was likely influenced by the relatively recent launch of an Xbox version in March 2024. So the Xbox Series S|X audience joined the game as well. Before that, the game was only available on PC and PlayStation.

The developer mentioned that Final Fantasy XIV surpassed its previous peak, which was reached in 2013 when the game was relaunched with the subtitle Realm Reborn.

The producer noted that Square Enix is already working on fixing known issues with the Dawntrail expansion. Among other things, the authors plan to make changes to several classes and freezing mechanics, as well as promise to improve performance on Microsoft devices. At the time of writing, the DLC had 63% positive reviews from users on Steam.
