James Bushnell, a devoted fan of the classic game Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue, has unveiled his remake of the game using the cutting-edge Unreal Engine 5. The developer spent around 200 hours creating a demo version, in which he reimagined some of the original game's locations and implemented core gameplay mechanics.

In the trailer released by Bushnell, the main character Buzz Lightyear can be seen jumping, pushing objects, and swinging, showcasing elements of a platformer. Despite the impressive graphics and updated gameplay, the creator acknowledges that there are still some imperfections that need to be addressed, such as visual bugs and unfinished animations.

However, his work has already garnered the attention of many fans of the original game, which was released by Activision in 1999 for PlayStation, Nintendo 64, and PC platforms. The Toy Story 2 remake on Unreal Engine 5 beautifully demonstrates how modern technology can breathe new life into beloved projects from the past.
