When we speak about the biggest events in the fighting games community, EVO Japan opens that list because it is the first huge tournament of the competitive season. This time, we have seven main brackets, and four of them had already finished.

Two of the finished brackets, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising and Under Night In-Birth II [Sys:Celes], are also in the ARC World Tour circuit. EVO Japan is a premium tier event, so its winners are the first players to qualify for the world championship. These two tournaments gathered more than a thousand participants combined.

The winner of the GBVSR tournament is Rookies, who lost his only set in the grand finals, but after the reset, he came back and claimed first place. As of UNI2, Kyo went for a perfect 9-0 this weekend. These two Japanese players are qualified for the ARC World Tour Finals.

Also, the King of Fighters XV tournament has concluded. The legend of the game, E.T., and his long-time rival Xiaohai brought one more epic grand final with the Taiwanese player being stronger.

Finally, SHO won the Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike tournament, which gathered around 450 players. But keep in mind that the Street Fighter 6 tournament has over 5000 players and will finish on Monday.
