It is hard to imagine nowadays that one city can be a host for major tournaments of two popular esports titles. Along with the CS2 PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, the capital of Denmark was also home to the first major of the Rocket League Championship Series 2024.

Funnily, the format of these two tournaments is roughly the same. The best sixteen teams played in the Swiss group stage, and eight teams, who won three matches, moved on to the single elimination playoffs.

Gentle Mates Alpine had no problems during the Swiss stage. The team won three matches out of three and rightfully claimed the first seed. However, in the playoffs, the matches become much more closer. Gentle Mates twice won their matches 4:3 (against Gen.G and Karmine Corp), and in the grand finals, the French team beat G2 Stride 4:2.

Gentle Mates won $75,000 of prize money and rose up to the third position in the European leaderboards. The best four European teams at the end of the season will qualify for the World Championship in September in Fort Worth.
