As of today, there is no official information regarding the release of the enhanced version of Quake 2. Bethesda remains silent, but insiders are eager to share fresh information that the remake is indeed in the works.

Back in June, a South Korean rating agency mentioned that the game remaster was planned for new platforms. Additionally, a reputable gaming insider, billbil_kun, stated that Quake 2 will be presented at QuakeCon.

The game's age rating has been assigned not only in South Korea but also by ESRB and PEGI. Furthermore, billbil_kun revealed that he possesses documents stating that it won't be a full-fledged remaster but rather an enhanced version of the game.

According to the source, the announcement is expected to take place during QuakeCon 2023. The game is set to be released on the following platforms:

• Xbox One;

• Xbox Series X / S;

• PS4;

• PS5;

• Nintendo Switch;

• PC.

The debut is slated to be in Game Pass.
