Sony held its traditional State of Play show — the first in 2024. Let's take a look at what was showcased during this event.

Helldivers 2

The event kicked off with the unveiling of a new trailer for Helldivers 2, scheduled for release on February 8 for PS5 and PC. The trailer featured numerous battle scenes of Helldivers against various villains.

Stellar Blade

The Korean studio SHIFT UP showcased the action game Stellar Blade. Players were treated to several cut-scenes, upgrade possibilities, and gameplay footage featuring combat. The release is set for April 26, 2024, exclusively on PS5.

Zenless Zone Zero

The free MMO adventure Zenless Zone Zero was presented at the State Of Play show, where a new gameplay trailer was revealed. The game is under development for PS5 and will also be available for PC, iOS, and Android.

Sonic X Shadow Generations

Sonic's fans will enjoy a collection of legendary 2D and 3D levels, as well as a new campaign featuring the hedgehog Shadow. Sonic X Shadow Generations is set to be released in the fall of 2024.

Foamstars

A content overview for the first season of the multiplayer shooter Foamstars. The game will be added to the PS+ catalog immediately after its release on February 6.

Dave the Diver

The appearance of Godzilla in the waters of the indie hit Dave The Diver was announced for May 2024. It was also announced that the game will be released on PS4 and 5 in April.

V Rising

Next up was V Rising, an isometric survival RPG by Stunlock Studios. Along with showcasing combat and the game world, it was confirmed that V Rising will be released on PlayStation 5 in 2024.

Silent Hill: The Short Message

Another unexpected reveal was Konami's announcement and immediate release of Silent Hill: The Short Message. This is a free first-person horror game set in the Silent Hill universe. It tells the story of a girl named Maya, who must navigate through a dark house in search of something, all while being pursued by a monstrous entity.

Silent Hill 2 Remake

Konami showcased gameplay from the Silent Hill 2 remake by Bloober Team for the first time. We see the character battling enemies and exploring familiar locations from the original game. The project is under development.

Judas

A narrative trailer for the shooter from Ken Levine, the creator of BioShock. Judas will be released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series. The release date is yet to be announced.

Metro Awakening VR

Metro Awakening VR will be the first to bring the renowned Metro franchise to virtual reality. The game's events will take place before those of Metro 2033. Vertigo Games will release Metro Awakening on PS5, PC, and Quest devices.

Legendary Tales

A cooperative action-RPG in VR, focusing on dungeon exploration and the eradication of skeletons, goblins, and other malevolent beings, will exit early access on February 8.

Dragon’s Dogma II

Dragon's Dogma 2, an open-world fantasy RPG by Capcom, was featured at State Of Play. The footage showed a warrior battling a dragon while sitting on its head, an archer firing ethereal arrows, and a wizard creating an ice wall. Dragon's Dogma 2 is slated for release on March 22, 2024.

Rise of the Ronin

The trailer focused on three main elements: combat, movement, and choice, as the game's narrative will offer players choices that affect the world around them. The release date is set for March 22, 2024.

Until Dawn Reissue

Ballistic Moon introduced Until Dawn, revamped and enhanced for PS5 and PC, slated for release in 2024.

Death Stranding 2

The final segment of State Of Play was dedicated to Death Stranding 2, subtitled On The Beach. The trailer featured both new and returning characters, including the comeback of Norman Reedus. Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is scheduled for release in 2025.

New spy title from Hideo Kojima

Hideo Kojima also announced that after completing Death Stranding 2, he will work on a new spy action game.
