Another try to adapt an iconic video game series will happen soon. The third iteration of the live-action Street Fighter movie is scheduled for a release in theaters on March 20, 2026.

However, there is little information about the project. This movie currently lacks a director, andcast is also unknown. This fact alone brings a lot of concerns. Will it be finished on time? What will the quality of the final product be?

Notably, the 1994 adaptation still brings "tens of millions of yen," according to Capcom's corporate reports. Thirty years ago, it received a lukewarm reception upon release (and that film had Jean-Claude Van Damme and Kylie Minogue as the main stars!); the Japanese corporation now considers it a commercially successful project.

There is hope that the 2026 adaptation will follow the recent trend of being a great video game adaptation. However, questions remain about the upcoming project.
