Toxicity in games is a common and widespread issue, something that some have even grown accustomed to. However, many players detest this toxic environment, leading them to abandon certain games. 

The developers of Helldivers 2 have recognized this and thus made a specific decision. Helldivers 2 lacks competitive multiplayer — it is a cooperative game. According to Johan Pilestedt, the director of Arrowhead Studio, the team is not interested in PvP encounters

 

He also mentioned that he would not like the game to be filled with toxicity. Additionally, Johan Pilestedt suggested that PvP enthusiasts might enjoy playing Escape from Tarkov. 

 

In his post, Pilestedt emphasized that Helldivers 2 is a game meant for having a good time with friends. The developer also added that the Arrowhead Game team aims to make Helldivers 2 a long-lasting and successful game, hence they will focus on creating a fun and engaging gaming experience.

Helldivers 2 is available on PC and PlayStation 5. Within the first three days, sales of the action game confidently surpassed the one million copies mark.
