Although actor Anthony Starr lent his appearance to Homelander from The Boys tv-show as a guest in MK1, this is likely the extent of his involvement. Starr stated on his Instagram that he will not be voicing the character in the fighting game.

This news has upset many fans. They believe that Homelander loses a lot without the actor's voice. For them, the character no longer feels familiar.

Starr could have had many reasons for not doing the voice-over for MK1. The most likely reason is the SAG-AFTRA strike, which occurred from mid-July to early November. Starr actively participated in the strike, sharing photos of his picketing with other SAG-AFTRA members. While the reason may be something else, neither Starr nor NetherRealm are disclosing details.

It's unknown who will voice Homelander instead of Starr. There's still a small chance that all this could be a joke, but this seems unlikely. Since then, the actor has blocked his comments on Instagram. This is probably not related to the MK1 situation, but it has made it harder for fans to express their emotions.

Homelander will appear in MK1 in the spring of 2024. Omni-Man, voiced by J.K. Simmons, has just been released for Kombat Pack owners. Other DLC fighters in development include Quan Chi, Peacemaker, Ermac, and Takeda, who will be released from winter 2023 to summer 2024.
