Starting June 17, 2024, the popular modding site Nexus Mods will be increasing the price of its premium subscription. The site's developers attributed the price hike to inflation and the need for website upgrades. The company plans to invest in community development and support mod creators, with $8 million already allocated and the amount growing daily. They are also actively recruiting new staff members.

The transition to a new payment system will enable them to collect taxes according to the laws of the country from which the donation is made. The developers aim to expand the list of regions where users can purchase premium memberships using their local currency. For example, the US will have dollars, and Brazil will have reals. The Nexus Mods team also wants to increase the number of payment methods by integrating PayPal and bank cards.

From mid-June onwards, users will pay flexible prices based on their region of residence. A month will cost $8.99, and a year will cost $89.99. For those who have already purchased subscriptions, everything will remain the same until October 1, 2024. After this date, site users can switch to paying in their local currency.
