PGL Major Copenhagen, the first major tournament in the history of Counter-Strike 2, entered its final stage. Eight teams, a single elimination bracket and only one squad, will be crowned champions.

Before the start of Day 1 in the Royal Arena of Copenhagen, PGL prepared a CG movie as an opening ceremony:

The first match of the day was Team Vitality, the winners of the last major in the CS:GO era, facing Cloud9 with four major champions in its roster. Analytics were split in their predictions: on the one hand, Cloud9 showed excellent performance during the Opening and Elimination Stages (6-1 in total). On the other hand, Team Vitality had a higher ceiling despite struggling in the Elimination Stage. We can say that regardless of their preferences, many people were expecting a great match.

However… there was only one team on the server. Team Vitality destroyed Cloud9 in a one-sided brawl. 13:8 on Inferno, 13:2 on Anubis - the French club left zero chances to their opponents.

In the semifinals, Team Vitality will face the winner of the FaZe Clan - Team Spirit match.
