Escape from Tarkov is one of the most famous and popular games in the "tactical shooter" genre. In the game, players act as scavengers and armed operatives infiltrating the hostile, lawless city of Tarkov. They must fight both NPC enemies and hostile players to escape from the area with whatever loot they can capture.

However, Battlestate Games does not rest on its laurels. The developers reported that the latest wave of bans affected more than 11,000 cheaters. All of them were detected using the BattlEye anti-cheat (BattlEye is an anti-cheat provider implemented in Escape from Tarkov).

The latest wave of bans covers the period from December 27, 2023, to January 12, 2024.

Highly competitive games like Escape from Tarkov are extremely attractive targets for cheaters and those who develop cheats. In Tarkov, the stakes are high: players killed lose everything they brought into the zone.

Such crushing defeats are even more demoralizing when they occur as a result of gaining an unfair advantage, which forces players to leave the game.
